Giovanna Sarno

Giovanna Sarno, born and raised in Rome, has developed an academic and professional path that combines the humanistic, psychological, historical-artistic, and tourism fields. She began her studies at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, where she attended the Faculty of Psychology, later graduating in Literature and Philosophy, thus deepening the connection between culture, art, and the human dimension.

In 1992, she obtained the Proficiency Certificate at the University of Sussex, consolidating her international education. She then undertook a prestigious three-month internship at the Whitney Museum in New York, contributing to research and the compilation of lectures on Louise Nevelson, an iconic figure in contemporary art.

She lived and worked in Brighton, United Kingdom, before returning to Italy, where she started an intense activity in the field of historical-artistic heritage enhancement. In particular, she focused on the historical-artistic management of aristocratic residences in Rome and Lazio, collaborating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and British agencies. At the same time, she developed her career as a curator of contemporary art exhibitions, an engagement that intensified after obtaining the Second-Level Master’s Degree in Exhibition and Event Curation at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

In addition to her curatorial and research activities, Giovanna Sarno is a certified tourist guide, a role that allows her to combine her academic skills and passion for cultural dissemination. Through guided tours and thematic routes, she leads the public in discovering the historical and artistic heritage of Rome and Lazio, offering insights that range from antiquity to contemporary art.

Thanks to her international experience and deep knowledge of artistic heritage, Giovanna Sarno continues to work in the cultural sector, focusing on dissemination, promotion, and enhancement of art and history in both institutional and private contexts.
