Teaching Methodology

Our innovative teaching method is based on thematic cultural modules designed to cover and deepen examination subjects and skills needed for guided tours.

  • Customizable approach: modules can be purchased individually, allowing participants to fill specific cultural gaps.
  • Ongoing interaction: the instructor provides constant, personalized feedback, with one hour of discussion included in the module (additional ones available upon request).
  • Experiential learning: during site visits, students have the opportunity to practice live, speaking and simulated explanations in front of an audience.
  • Learning materials: each participant will receive learning and bibliographic materials at the end of the lectures.

Complete Pathway for the National Competition 2025

The recommended course for preparation for the competition includes a 7-module course, with a total cost of €1,100:

  1. Vatican: Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica
  2. Ancient Rome
  3. Baroque Rome
  4. Venice
  5. Florence
  6. Naples and Pompeii
  7. Tourism Legislation and Geography

Optional In-Depth Modules

For those who wish to further enrich their cultural and professional background, additional modules are available:

  • Universal History (2500 B.C. – 2000 A.D.) – divided into 3 modules
  • History of Art (2000 B.C. – 2000 A.D.) – divided into 3 modules
  • History of the Art Object: Materials and Techniques (by lecturer Maria Rosaria)

Enrollment and Modalities of Participation

Access to the course is by selection based on a check of the candidate’s general culture.

  • Registration fee: €20.
  • Evening classes: 3 hours per session, at continuous times
  • Extra guided tours: available separately at a cost of €20 each.

The Figure of the Teacher/Guide

The figure of the teacher/guide originated in the 1990s, when a number of graduates in humanities disciplines such as Art History, Architecture, Ancient Humanities and related subjects began working as tour guides. Through their experience in the field, these professionals honed not only academic knowledge but also the specific know-how of the trade. This combination of skills is now at your disposal to help you succeed in the competition.
